Wow! The support for the book exchange was fantastic! Hopefully, the message about the benefits of recycling books has been heard and pupils will continue to share books once they have been read. In addition, this may spark conversation about themes, plots and characters and our love of reading (already very impressive at Cheam) can continue to grow.
Thank you especially to 7SC who managed the collection of exchanged books this week. They also stuck rating sheets into the back of each, so that these books can be circulated and read over and over again. Well done to every pupil who brought in a book and got into the spirit of the exchange (some brought in several – like Alex who brought in over 40 books!). All next week, during breaks, every pupil who brought in a book is invited to come to S17 to find themselves new books in exchange. They are categorised by which year group brought them in, but there are so many to choose from, there should be something for everyone. If you exchanged three, come and find three that you like and give them a read. They are now yours to read and pass on to friends.
