The average class size is 16 in the Prep school and 13 in the Pre-Prep

A huge range of activities are on offer from yoga to cookery, tennis, golf to rock climbing. More details are available here.

Children go onto a range of leading senior schools, many which are boarding schools. More details are available here.

We are pleased to operate a number of minibus routes for travel to and from Cheam. A regular morning service and an ad-hoc afternoon service are available. More details are available here.

We are fully co-educational at Cheam, with an even balance of boys and girls in each year group. We have been co-educational since 1997.

Children can begin their boarding journey in Year 4, at age 8.

We are a non-selective school and offer taster days for children. Please see our admissions journey here.

At Cheam we prepare our children not only for the next stage but for life beyond. The school nurtures and develops intellectual, personal, physical, emotional, creative and empathetic core values and skills in each pupil. This is done through the creation of a happy, stimulating environment in which pupils experience a diverse range of opportunities and strive to give of their best in all they do.

The enjoy approximately 6 hours per week in Prep school and 2.5 hours of sport plus an hour of woodland learning, per week in the Pre-Prep.

In additional to our culture of kindness and our desire to put mental health front and centre, we are fortunate to have a space that embodies our approach – The Nest. The Nest is a special space to relax, unwind and connect with others. It is a calm room, tucked away off the main school courtyard and is open to children at break times.
