This week Cheam was buzzing with numbers, logic and LOTS of fun! From solving real-life puzzles to cracking codes and mastering maths challenges, there is a big focus on all things mathematical.
Years 3 and 4 had a cracking time puzzling out codes and maths problems in their junior maths morning! From equations and codes to working out fractions of flags and pizzas, there were plenty of activities to exercise their math skills and curious minds.
Year 3 had a wonderful start to their new topic of measuring, Year 5 have been calculating the differences in temperature between countries and Year 6 have been looking at angles and tackling one of life’s most important questions: the ratio of sweets in each packet of Haribo!
We also saw Cheam’s biggest Junior Maths Challenge success ever with 15 bronze certificates, 23 silver certificates and 12 gold certificates! We are so excited that Hanbo, Wilf, Koki, Cora, Vincent, Xander F, Xander M and Hanbo all achieved the very highest marks and have been invited to compete in the next round (Junior Kangaroo) after Half Term. Well done!
