ICT | Cheam School

The ICT curriculum at Cheam is creative and dynamic, constantly evolving to meet the needs of a changing digital environment.

Pupils are taught coding, including robotics, textual coding as well as block-based coding. STEM focused activities are taught, including electronics and innovative, real-world product design.

In addition, pupils learn how to express themselves digitally. This includes podcasting, creating presentations, producing stories electronically, animation and video editing.

Pupils are also taught how to keep themselves safe online. A comprehensive e-safety programme runs alongside the PSHCEE department to help pupils navigate online risks.

Through projects in ICT lessons, pupils are also taught to own their digital work. For example, learning how to work collaboratively and how to research.

The ICT curriculum teaches pupils to safely embrace the advantages of modern technology.
